National Nurses Week: May 6 through 12, and National Hospital Week: May 10 through 16 National Nurses Week begins each year on May 6 and ends on May 12, Florence Nightingale’s birthday. It overlaps with National Hospital Week, a celebration of the history, technology and dedicated professionals that make hospitals and health systems beacons of confidence and care in the community. This year our theme is “Celebrating 50 Years of Compassionate Care!” Cuero Regional Hospital encourages the public to share their gratitude and thank their nurses and hospital staff with a handwritten note; via the Cuero Regional Hospital Facebook page; or via the “Contact Us” form on the website, cuerohospital.org . Dueling Pianos • Friday, July 24, 6 to 10 p.m. The Venue on Church Street 125 E. Church St. Cuero, TX 77954 This summer’s hottest event, “Dueling Pianos,” is one of the best shows around, featuring two talented musicians dueling it out on pianos during an evening of fast, funny and unforgettable entertainment. Our entertainers engage the audience, making them the star of the show. It only takes a song to have the partygoers shouting out requests, singing along to favorites, bantering with performers, and having the time of their lives. Turkey Trot 5K 2020 • Saturday, Oct. 10, 8 a.m. Bfit Cuero Wellness Center Registration starts at 7 a.m. The 13th Annual Turkey Trot 5K will benefit the Bfit Cuero Wellness Center and Boys and Girls Club of Dewitt County. The top three finishers in each age group will receive medals and prize packs. Register online at active.com . Community Walk The new year offered an opportunity for fresh starts, and the Bfit Cuero Wellness Center took full advantage with a 1-mile walk or jog through Cuero’s Christmas in the Park on Jan. 2. More than 150 people attended the family-friendly New Year. Fresh Start. Community Walk, which is impressive, considering this is the first year to host the event, says Emily Weatherly, Marketing and Development Director for Cuero Regional Hospital. All proceeds were donated toward developing more lighted displays in Cuero’s Christmas in the Park. Heart & Sole Heart Walk Bfit Cuero Wellness Center presented the Heart & Sole Heart Walk on Feb. 8, and we were thrilled with the turnout! This was the third year for the Heart Walk, and it was held at Cuero’s Gobbler Stadium for the second year. Thanks to the event supporters, organizers Tami Brzozowski with Bfit Cuero Wellness Center and Wanda Hays with CISD, and the volunteers for their dedication. Special thanks to our speakers: emcee Tami Brzozowski, Cuero Health CEO Lynn Falcone, City of Cuero Mayor Sara Post Meyer, CISD’s Wanda Hays and Parkside Family Clinic’s Cody Walthall, MD.
